What are cookies?

We use cookies across our website to improve performance and enhance user experience. Cookies are small text files which a website may put on your computer or mobile device when you first visit a site or page. Most cookies won’t collect information that identifies you, and will instead collect more general information such as how users arrive at and use our website, or a user’s general location.

What sort of cookies do we use?

The Tashmina Artists website uses cookies for two main reasons, and the information gained cannot be used by anyone else.

1. Essential cookies

Some cookies are essential for the operation of our website. For example, some cookies allow us to identify registered users (applies only to those with access to the administration area to input and maintain the site’s content) and ensure they can access the secure pages. If a registered user opts to disable these cookies, the user will not be able to access these pages.

2. Performance Cookies

We use other cookies to analyse how our visitors use our website, and to monitor website performance. In particular, we use performance cookies to keep track of which pages are most popular and to track general viewing patterns such as the broad location of each visitor. We also use Google Analytics. If you wish to prevent your data from being used by Google Analytics, please click here.

Can a website user block cookies?

Other information

Please note that we use Jetpack’s Publicise feature to offer the facility for you to share content from our site to your social media accounts. We offer this for Facebook, Twitter, Linked in and Google +.   If you share a post to any of these external services, that organisation will then receive information such as the content itself (in order to display it), the name of the website (Tashmina Artists), your IP address, your browser, what operating system you’re using, and whether you’ve previously visited the site. Please consult the privacy policy for each service as these will change over time.
