Robert Plane at Corbridge Festival

This weekend sees the 21st edition – ‘To the New World’ – of the Corbridge Chamber Music Festival in Northumberland, of which Robert Plane and the Gould Piano Trio are joint artistic directors.

Robert Plane to record with BBC Scottish and Martyn Brabbins

In June of this year, Robert Plane will be recording a new disc with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Martyn Brabbins. The disc will include premiere recordings of clarinet concerti by three twentieth-century British composers, building on both Martyn’s and Rob’s continuing advocacy of British music.

New Publicity Images for Robert Plane

Robert Plane has a new set of publicity images, taken on his recent visit to Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester.

The images were taken by Sara Porter for the “50 portraits” exhibition, where photographs are being taken of fifty people with close links to Chetham’s.

Radio 3 Broadcast of Mozart Clarinet Concerto

Robert Plane is looking forward to returning to China later this month with BBC National Orchestra of Wales, when the orchestra will give five concerts in four major cities, aimed at fostering creative collaborations between China and Wales. Looking ahead to this tour, today’s Radio 3 ‘Afternoon Concert‘ was from the Beijing National Centre for the Performing Arts in 2012, when the orchestra made its debut tour of China, featuring Robert Plane as soloist in Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto. The conductor was Thierry Fisher and the 2,000 members of the audience were joined by 6m people watching live on Chinese television.
